Submit
You can submit your papers by sending it to the general email address of the workshop.
Authors are invited to submit a short paper (5 pages) that describes their ideas, techniques, tools, experiences, etc. in the field of aspect-oriented software evolution. Papers should be submitted as PDF(preferred), PS or DOC using the ACM Conference format. All accepted papers will be published in the ACM Digital Library.
In addition, authors are requested to include a section that specifies how the work presented in their paper provides answers to the following questions (if relevant) in their area of interest:
- aspect exploration
- My technique does/does not identify all code related to a concern because ...
- My technique does/does not avoid false positives and negatives because ...
- The software upon which I validated my technique is suitable as a common benchmark, because ...
- aspect extraction
- My technique generates appropriate pointcuts by ...
- My technique extracts advice code by ...
- My technique guarantees behaviour preservation by ...
- aspect evolution
- My technique tackles the fragile pointcut problem by ...
- My technique leads to better evolvable aspects because ...
- My technique guarantees behaviour preservation by ...
Answers to these questions are supposed to improve the workshop's structure and contents:
- a solid basis for focussed discussions will be provided
- commonalities and differences between the different tools and techniques will be identified
- opportunities for new collaborations will be revealed
- improvements to current tools and techniques will be identified
All papers (of reasonable quality and appropriateness) will receive feedback from the members of the workshop's program committee. Each paper will be reviewed by two PC members, which are requested to provide comments on how the work/text can be improved in order to strengthen the chances of acceptance of a full paper.
We will accept two tiers of papers:
- The first tier consists out of a small number of papers which present a controversial idea. The authors of these papers are invited to do a lengthy presentation (20 min) to all the participants of the workshop. These presentations should raise a number of issues which are thought provoking and which serve as fuel to start up the discussions.
- The second tier papers will present their work to one of the three focus groups, one for each discussion point (exploration, extraction and evolution). The participants of the workshop will be assigned to focus groups based on their interests and/or the topic of their papers. During the first focus group, each of the participants gets a chance to briefly discuss their work in an informal presentation (5 min.; 2 slides). The remaining time of the focus groups is devoted to discussing the issues raised in the papers. One person in each focus group takes notes which, during the last session, will be presented to the entire workshop. Discussion in the focus groups will be moderated and guided by (at least) one workshop organizer.
