The goals of this workshop are:

• to catalogue and coordinate the currently existing efforts, tools and techniques in the field of aspect-oriented software evolution.
• to identify interesting and relevant topics raised by (for example) industrial needs, but not yet addressed by the research community
• to provide a platform for the exchange of new ideas and initial experiences that are not yet sufficiently mature for publication
• to give authors of position papers a significant amount of early feedback on their work, which hopefully leads to quality future conference submissions

As the focus of the workshop is the discussion of important issues in our research field, we expect the workshop to open new opportunities for exchange of experience and collaboration between participants.

Additionally, the input from industrial participants and their experiences in applying AOSD to existing applications is expected to raise interesting topics for further study.

In order to ensure relevant feedback and to improve the paper's quality and prepare it for future publication, we will try to introduce the notion of a "research mentor" during the workshop this year. A research mentor is an experienced person who already presented important publications on topics which are relevant to this workshop. His/her role will be to stay in contact with a young(er) student and help him/her through advices and comments on preliminary versions and drafts of the paper.
