Security is an interesting and varied application domain for Aspect-Oriented Software Development (AOSD). The pervasiveness and the complex nature of security requirements makes that this is also a challenging application domain. Security requirements often depend on each other and their implementation necessitates adequate control over the other concerns in an application. Also, guarantees with regard to the enforcement of security concerns are crucial in this context.
The workshop aims to provide an interactive forum for researchers and developers in the communities of software engineering and security to discuss the use of AOSD technology for security. The goal of the workshop is to explore the opportunities and challenges in this context. In particular, the focus of the workshop will be twofold: the extent to which AOSD can be used for the implementation and enforcement of security requirements and the tool support that is necessary to enable a full modularization of these requirements.
The AOSDSEC workshops will be held in the George Fox Building, room LT2, on the Lancaster University campus. Lunch and coffee breaks will be held in the foyer of this building. There is an online campus map that shows the location of the building.
A data and an overhead projector will be available for presentations. The organizers will arrange for a laptop that can be used by the presenters. Wireless Internet access should be available in the discussion room.
