Status 

The Call For Papers is now available. Workshop attendance will be by invitation only, based on submitting a position paper.

Call For Papers 

How do you teach aspects to undergraduate students, graduate researchers or practitioners? How can aspects be used effectively when teaching other subjects in computer science? This workshop aims to exchange experiences and best practices, in order to advance the state of the art in teaching and teaching with aspects.

Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
- Example courses on aspects.
- The appropriate place of aspects in teaching the software life cycle.
- Sample programming projects that can be used to teach particular facets of aspects.
- Why aspects make a good basis for teaching compiler construction.
- The use of aspects in a software design course.
- Teaching aspects at the specification level.
- Misconceptions among experienced programmers/researchers.
- Pedagogies for aspects.

The workshop will consist of a limited number of presentations of experience reports and position papers, followed by break-out sessions around particular topics and plenary discussion sessions. The duration of the workshop is a full day.

Submissions

To participate in this workshop, please submit a 2-page experience report or position paper to the workshop organizers. Experience reports should describe the salient features of an existing course, or a concrete programming project that can be set as a student assignment, or outline a specific position on issues in teaching aspects. Negative experiences can be of interest, especially if conclusions can be drawn from them. Position papers are intended to highlight key points or potentially controversial issues. The length limit of 2 pages is firm.
